I have been awful at updating this blog. Life has been busy (what's new) and there really hasn't been too much to report. Overall, I've felt great. My only complaint is swelling of the ankles and feet as well as back pain from time to time. My last doctor's appointment was uneventful. I definitely miss the personal touch I felt from SGFC every time I visit my OB. Don't get me wrong, I do like it there, but I am definitely just another patient. Even though, I loved being able to see my babies again! I am so lucky- I get ultrasounds every visit. I hope that never changes. On my way out, I made my appointment for my gestational diabetes test (on Tuesday, May 26), and received a referral for the anatomical ultrasound at St. Agnes... which happened to be today! The past 2 weeks and 3 days have been a long wait (nothing like the waiting in January though)... but turned out to be worth every second of anticipation.
If you remember, the doctor predicted that we were having 2 boys during my 12 week appointment. He did add that his prediction was 60/40... not to tell anyone and not to shop... As you already know, I told everyone... but wouldn't allow myself to shop. Well today, I went shopping... however, I was able to buy both pink and blue! At today's appointment, Braiden's gender was discovered first. Let's just say that there is no denying that he is a boy.... he makes his daddy very proud!!! What seemed like an eternity later... the sonographer made her way over to baby B. I know I should have been concerned and excited to find that all was well with the head, heart, limbs, etc... but I was dying to know! When the sonographer asked me (again) what the doctor had predicted... I knew she was about to deliver the news. I responded... "2 boys... that means we are having a girl, doesn't it????" Sheila just smiled and said yes. She pointed out how she could tell. While it was much harder for us to see, there was no denying that things were quite different than the boy's. I screamed so loud, another sonographer (the one we had last time) came in the room to see what all the hooting and hollering was about! James and I were both in shock when the sonographer showed us our little girl but we couldn't be happier. While we were still in the appointment, James tormented my mother with several texts, none of which revealed the news she was dying the hear. We had a lot of fun calling her when we got outside. She, like everyone else we were able to tell today are happy that everything went well today and ecstatic for our immediate family of four!
I do have belly pics to add- but it is much easier to do from my laptop. Since I happen to be on my desktop, I will end here and hopefully post some pics tomorrow! I can't wait to tell my students and colleagues as they have all lived through my anticipation! I must sign off now as it is way past my bedtime...
Think BLUE and Think PINK!!!
Until next time...
