Today was our last official appointment at Shady Grove Fertility. We've graduated! While sad to leave, I am so happy to be at this point in the pregnancy! Today was another huge sigh of relief for me! It has continued to be difficult for me to wrap my brain around the fact that I am really pregnant... and with twins!!! James and I were both overcome with joy today when we saw our little babies on the ultrasound screen. They have grown so much and actually look like little babies. The pictures they gave us are absolutely amazing! You can actually see little arm buds as well as their little noses! I am so in love! Dr. Timmerick said that both are a little bigger than 2 cm. Their heartbeats are strong and beating at a good pace! At first, James was having a hard time seeing the heart beat on the screen, so he stood up and got closer. I almost lost it when he asked the sonographer, "Can you pause it for a second?" so he could get a better look! I know what he meant- but it sounded like we were watching a movie! The best part was when one of the babies began "dancing" for us. It was so neat to see. I wish I could feel them inside of me- but apparently this won't happen for several more weeks!
I continue to feel overly tired (in fact, when Dr. Timmerick saw me, that is the first thing she mentioned)! I've been lucky that I am not "sick" even though sometimes I wish I was so that I could be reassured that I'm still pregnant! Besides my boobs still being sore, my only other sign on pregnancy is that my stomach is puffed out a bit. I was so happy when James agreed that it finally had grown! I'll see how I feel about this in a few more months!!! Right now, I can't wait!
It is hard to concentrate on anything other than this pregnancy! I feel a great sense of responsibility carrying around such precious cargo however, am so happy to do so! My next appointment is with my regular OB/GYN on Monday, March 16, at 4:00 p.m. I'll be 11 weeks! I'm hoping the next few weeks go super fast and then I'll be able to just enjoy all the daily changes! I still haven't figured out how to get our ultrasound pictures online- but will work on it! We are so excited and are looking forward to sharing all the little details with you as they arise! Thanks for all your support!
Until next time...
